SOUTHERN GRANDEUR

This project pays tribute to the ethos of its era, seamlessly blending the main residence’s historic character with the casita’s revitalized allure. In the main house, original elements have been carefully retained, reflecting a deep regard for historical integrity, while fresh materials introduce a refined energy that is both sophisticated and inviting. Key spaces include the lounge with its understated maximalism, the dining room with its reimagined elegance, and the jewel box powder bath, all harmoniously blending past and present.

The casita, originally built in the 1980s, presented a unique challenge—one that included its disjointed design. By reconfiguring the kitchen and bath, and drawing inspiration from the craftsmanship of the main house, we transformed the casita from an eyesore into a cherished hallmark, seamlessly unifying it with the main residence in both style and spirit.

“The biggest save of all was the black-and-off-white scored concrete floor in the lounge, a relic her team left unbuffed and untouched to fulfill the clients’ original directive: ‘a balance between preservation and revitalization.”
